Third Grade Music Performance

Now, the end of the school year is upon us and we have many celebrations and events.  Students are also finishing many projects and preparing for tests and quizzes.  During this time of year, it is important that students are at school each and every day.  We want to make sure they complete all of their work before our summer break. We will be going strong until June 16th.

Here are some photos from last week's music performance.

Downtown Portland Field Trip

The Skidmore Fountain
"Good citizens are the riches of a city."

Old buildings were designed with atriums and numerous windows to let in daylight.

Brick walls were strategically made to hold weight. Our guide showed students how this was done by comparing the wall and Lego bricks.
USS Oregon

A peak inside Dan and Louis's Oyster Bar, designed to look like a ship. There were many early photos of Portland events.
Students tested the flow of the Willamette River by throwing in sticks and seeing which direction they went.

Reenacting the coin toss that determined the name of our city.

Ankeny Square

Which arches are made of cast iron and which are fiberglass?
Students used magnets to find out.
